tennis uniforms

Hey there!

I'm relaxing at home now for my fall break; what a great way to catch up on some sleep as well as shopping!

As I previously posted in "Where's the brown" I am still struggling to find the right uniform for my team.
At least we were able to make a conclusive decision about sneakers.

Adidas Women's Barricade 6.0
Nike Women's Mirabella 2 Sneaker
Last season, we ordered Adidas Barricades, as pictured above (top). While these shoes are the most durable and have a fantastic reputation with competitive tennis players, they are clunky and heavy in the heel. To rectify this problem, we decided to go with Nike shoes this year. Though Nike shoes have a shorter life span than the Adidas ones, Nike now offers the same 6-month guarantee Adidas has always provided to their customers.  We decided to get the Nike Mirabella 2 in White and Silver, as shown above (bottom). What a great choice! They're much lighter than the Barricades and have a quicker break-in time.

The next obstacle are the uniforms. The deep burgandy skirts I wrote about in my previous blog were not approved by Lehigh.  This is mostly because the color could be confused for that of a Lafayette Leopard - God forbid!
We decided to keep with the 'Nike all-white trend' we began with the sneakers and have ordered to above top and the below skort.
Nike Women's Border Skort in White/White

No worries, we won't look like we are playing the Wimbledon final - we are going to jazz up both items with some brown screen printing.  On the skort, a 'Lehigh Athletics L - Hawk' will go on the lower right-hand side opposite the Nike swoosh. On the tank, 'Lehigh' across the chest should complement the skort's 'L-Hawk' nicely.  Last year, we had a similar top and screen print design, but paired it with this black skirt, also from Nike:

It doesn't look like we will get two separate outfits this year, as we have in the past, but two skirts will save us a lot of laundry time!

That's all for now about our tennis uniforms. Be sure to check back later this week - I will post a live blog on the next Yankee play-off game!

Until then, stay fashionable, stay fit ...

...and Go Yankees!!!
